Day One of Chicago Lovin’

I work in a skyscraper.
I have my own, rather spacious, cubicle.
I finish a new book every week and a half.
I’ve actually been successfully sticking to a diet and seeing results.

2 months ago I wouldn’t recognize me but I am so absolutely thrilled and happy to be where I am right now!

My coworkers are all awesome! Very friendly, all younger entry-level folk like myself and Kim who just started as well. Because on top of all of that I was hired with one of my good friends since middle school who lives down the street from the train station we’ll both be taking for the same shift.

I still don’t think I fully believe it yet to be perfectly honest, but maybe some pictures will help. I generally try to take a different way to work just to mix it up each day and i find some interesting/really nice sights and places.

Chicago Board of Trade by Union Station, always eventful inside or out.

Coogs’ apparently opened a bar. That’s def a new trick.

This is from the window of the actual studio building where they film which is right next to the business tower that I work in.

Which remind meee…

My very own little cubical! How Corporate America am I, right? Needs a lot of art and decoration though.

Luggage, check

Finally found a nice 2 piece set that screams my name, doesn’t beak my bank, yet still says ‘like, I’m a professionaaalll!’

Supes cute ya? Just makes me nervous to compare the amount of clothing I want to bring to the size of the luggage I have to work with. Three weeks is a long time, looks like laundry on the road will be in my future.

Also finally finished my photo tumbler project:

Bunch of cute AST/Greek Life pictures that I had for the scrapbook I will probably not get to for another 6 months.

9 days!

Because I looooooove to send them! Not that I’d know, never really been anywhere cool to send one from- but I will be now!

I’m collecting addresses to send postcards to people while I’m gone. One, because I like to do things like that, and two, if I have some free time at night I can have smoething to do by sending you all mini novels about life on the road. 🙂

So feel free to text them to me, Facebook message them to me, or Direct Message them to me. You can even leave a comment on here if you don’t mind the whole world seeing your biz, just get it to me so I have it for the sending!

18 days until I leave for my first day of the rest of my life, or at least the first steps toward it.

Can hardly believe I leave home again it all seems kind of surreal. While it’s not as though I’m moving out I may as well be because the next several months will be lived primarily out of whatever cute set of luggage I purchase this weekend.

I can’t even describe how excited I am to get to see some new places while being on the job, never thought I’d have an opportunity like this! With little over two weeks left before take off I’ve already been compulsively list making, packing and harassing people with 348930132 questions about anything and everything given the fact I haven’t flown in 12 years… yikes.

Hoping to keep up on this thing in some downtime in my travels, mostly for my reading when I’m 85 and senile so I can remember what the hell I did all those years ago, but also for anyone who for whatever apparent reason is interested 🙂

❤ A
